I probably haven't written in this in about a year. I am not going to bother trying to write some sort of long entry.
I've invented a new holiday called "Dyslexic Mardi Gras". You throw beans at grills and then they show you their books. |

There is hair growing on the back of my fingers, hands and wrists. What purpose does this hand hair serve? To keep me warm? Would I look weird if I shaved them off? Or, could I do it and go totally unnoticed? It would be fun to walk into the break room at work and say "Hey, everybody, notice anything different about me?" |

My lesson from tonight's soup:
Too much egg in the meatballs makes them chewy.
Or maybe I didn't cook them enough.
Oh well, it's cooking for an audience of 1. |

Ok... I tried making it...
I also included banana slices...
The result is this... Banana omelet = very tasty. Apple omelet = meh. Banana-Apple Omelet = part tasty, part meh.
But, overall, it's a lot better than the low expectation I set for myself. I don't regret eating it. |

I need to start writing in this thing again.
I just had an idea when I looked in my fridge: apple omelet. Yes, it sounds gross, but try googling it. Somebody else has already come up with the idea. The way all the recipes have it is a lot more fancy than what I would do but tomorrow being my day off I might just get out a pan and make it my way which would be to spray the pan with some oil, pour on a layer of that egg beater stuff, and then grab an apple from the fridge, slice it up, and put the contents on the egg as it is beginning to solidify, mash and flip it around for a few minutes, listen to the pockets of air squeal as they always do when I make omelets, put it in a bowl and eat it, and then hopefully remember to turn off the burner.
And what will it taste like? Probably like eggs that have been spilled upon by wayward apple juice, but then that's me being incredibly pessimistic. I think I can actually beat that standard. That being said, whenever I cook, I have one goal in mind: to make something that I won't regret having eaten... And I say that from a taste perspective rather than from that of nutrition. |

Isn't it funny that the words sportsmanship and gamesmanship turn out to be antonyms? |

Ok, my prediction didn't come true but holy shit that was amazing!
I won't spoil it but I will say that the cauldron lighting portion of the ceremony is well worth staying up to see when NBC airs it tonight.
Good job so far, China! |
